Oh Hello There

I know I've neglected the blog realm lately and no one actually reads this (and by no one I mean only alyssa and sometimes ryan) but this video needs to be documented.
Thank god I stummbled upon music for kids who can't read good. Its a hilarious literal version of the video for the 80s classic Take On Me by A-ha. Everyone needs a little meme in their life.

Best line:
This guys gonna get an ass full of pipe wrench.

Oh and the people who live in the quad next door have been playing the same fucking mix tape for an hour now and I cannot stand the repetative bass beat. I think it irks me because I know the song but can't place it. I think this may just drive me completely insane.

Remember when I was freaking out because I couldn't decided what to do with my life?
Yeah, still have no clue. But I'm taking the GREs. So thats something. I'm thinking I might just go to Christiania. Except the cops are douche bags and hassle them a lot and I don't speak french or danish. Maybe I'll just start a blog about communes.

Hot Chocolate

For my second job I work on campus in the Financial Aid office, filing things and generally being the office bitch. Greg (the other student worker and my accomplice) and I have been working here since the summer and we are completely ridiculous. Currently I'm filling in as secretary and Greg is making us hot coco. We just read about the 7 year old boy who broke into an Australia zoo and killed 11 animals. Shocking! But we can't watch the video because we are not allowed to download flash onto this computer. Lame. I've decided that it doesn't matter where I work as long as A. No one bothers me and B. I have like-minded people to create havoc with me.

In other news-it's FAMILY WEEKEND!!! at Drew University. Which means there is a temporary ice skating rink and a gigantic inflated chair in the middle of my campus. There are also tons of parents driving around campus asking for directions. Basically I want to stab everyone.

Last night, Drew decorated the student center with pumpkins, scarecrows, dead corn husks, and mums. Initially this made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. How cute that Drew is getting into the fall spirit and dressing up for their students...or are they? NO, they're just trying to make the University look good because parents are going to be here. Drews making sure that the parents look around and think, "Wow, this is $52,000 a year well spent!"

Well fuck you Drew. I know exactly what you're doing and I'm not falling for it. In fact I'm going to steal one of those pumpkins tonight. That's the least this school can do for me after four years!

Maybe I'll just carve all of the pumpkins like this and then spray paint, "Your kids are DRUNKS!" on the walls.

Desperation

I really miss The Yeah Yeah Yeahs. I loved Fever To Tell. Its still one of my favorite albums of all time. It corresponded to that newfound freedom, all grown up section of my life perfectly. I didn't really get into Show Your Bones except for Gold Lion and Nick Zinners/Diplos Remix. It was a different experience for me. I am excited for the new album thats coming out in January. I'm giving the Ys a second chance. I just hope Karen O stops getting stupid haircuts.

Quick List of Fall Loves:

Pumpkin Spice Lates
Blue/Black striped long sleeve vnecks stolen from my gay BF
fireplace smell
taping colored leaves onto everything
apple picking
being cozy

i forgot that the Diplo mix was hott. Yay for making the old new again!

Productive

My girlfriend and I are so productive. We made LOL cats yesterday because her cats are just the cutest things ever. I think I should have an LOL cat sunday with exclusives of our kitties. Yes. I am serious.

I also wrote a six page fiction story that was ten pages hand written and made me feel special until I put it into word. God Dammit. My creative juices have officially been sapped.

De Blob!!!

I foolishly rented a new Wii game yesterday and I played for about five hours. The basis of the game is that inkies have taken all the color out of the world and imprisoned all the people to work at cubicals. This new colorless world is full of jails and propoganda towers. As the hero, blob, it is your job to bring color back to the city. I love the whole political undertones in this game. I cannot seem to stop playing. I want to color the entire world and get those evil leaders out of power. This game was originally made by Dutch college students. I don't know what is going to happen. I have tons of homework including a short story I need to finish for fiction class but all I really want to do is play De Blob. Its awful. Oh I wish I didn't have such an addictive personality.

Maybe I should be a video game tester when I graduate. I'm inherently good at playing video games. I got my first system (NINTENDO) when I was only five years old. Although I'm not sure I want to waste so much of my life staring at a TV screen...but maybe it's better than a computer screen...

Stylized Movement

Metropolis is such an unsettling film. Oh German expressionism. I love how creepy and dark it is. I'm glad I decided to sign up for this film class. Its actually interesting. I'm going to email the head of the photography department at Drew and beg them to teach me how to develop 120 film. Then I can be super awesome with my Diana + developing my own film. I can't find anyone to do it for me without sending it out. In a few years no one will even do it. It's just not practical.

I'm feeling like I may be getting sick. I really can't afford to process at a level lower than this. Maybe tea will make me feel better. Working this hard is making me really depressed which I'm inclined to being anyway. I'm excited to go apple picking this weekend. Its one of my favorite things ever. Just two more days and the week is over.

Black Cloud

Yesterday I got to run my first errand as an intern! I took this large Styrofoam poster through the subway to Cooper Square in the East Village. For some strange reason it took me an hour and a half. I was actually really busy yesterday. It went from 12-4:30 in about 5.3 seconds.

After Thai food with the GF I went back to Drew for some Ryan Weller time. I sewed Sam a new eye, nose and mouth. I enjoy sewing while drinking miller lite. Excellent! I'm glad Sam's surgery was a success.

I missed my train today by two minutes. It was pulling in as I got to the station but I didn't have a ticket and I was in Madison. I had to go down to the ticket window and wait on line. Its so stupid that Madison doesn't have ticket machines. What the fuck? Are we in the stone age?? Madison has so much money and they can't put in ticket machines?? Its so strange. Why isn't anyone else annoyed by this? I bet that they think it's "quaint". The only upside is that it supplies a job. I love the ticket guy. I'm going to find out what his name is.

I should just be a Manhattan dog walker. I love dogs and they love me. I have tons of experience and then I can be outside all day. Except I wouldn't work from December-February. I think that's fair. I'll walk 5th avenue dogs for $40 a walk. I think that's a good rate for someone with a BA in English.
